Form Tutors

Each boy is under the care of his Form Tutor who will monitor his academic and social progress. The Form Tutor is the first port of call for parents wishing to discuss any particular worries or concerns about their son.

On joining the Junior Department, Form 3 boys are in close contact with their Form Tutors, who are responsible for teaching English and Maths to the boys in their class every day. The boys receive specialist teaching for French, Science, ICT, Design Technology, Humanities, Art, Drama, Music and Sport.

As the boys progress up through the school all lessons are taught by staff who specialise in their chosen subject.

Form Tutors have time with their class at registration every morning. In addition, a Form Tutor period takes place each week when the boys follow a course in Personnal, Social and Health Education. This programme is designed to relate to specific year groups and is an important part of pastoral care. These sessions help to develop the boys' self-esteem and belief in their ability to succeed. All staff strive to ensure that our boys are happy; they are encouraged to value each other and be supportive of each other. This Christian ethos underpins the school: making the boys part of a caring, happy extended family is key to Aldro's success.
