Michael SayersMr Michael Sayers (Chairman) - Appointed: November 1983

Educated at Charterhouse and Oxford University. Qualified as a barrister – career in the law, mainly in the public sector, including tribunal work and appointment of judges; increasingly management posts, most recently 10 years as Chief Executive of the Law Commission, the official law reform body for England and Wales.  Now, part-time General Secretary of the Commonwealth Association of Law Reform Agencies.  Also involved in sports law and Church of England discipline.  His wife trained at Froebel and taught under-5’s.  Lives in Guildford.

 

Margaret BlakeMrs Margaret Blake - Appointed:  March 1988

English graduate of Nottingham University.  Teaching career began at Monkton Combe School.  Headmistress of White House School, Wokingham 1992-2002.  Registered Independent School Inspector.  Married to Richard, formerly Headmaster of Luckley Oakfield School.  Two children, six grandchildren.  Now retired and living in Southampton.

 

 

Sir Peter Woodhead Sir Peter Woodhead - Appointed:  October 1995

 Naval background. CSO to Flag Officer commanding Falklands Task Force in 1982.  Appointed Vice Admiral 1991.  Appointed first Prisons Ombudsman in 1994.  Deputy Chairman of a technology company and involved in eight charities, primarily concerned with crime reduction.  Now living in Brighton.

 

 

Brian KirkpatrickMr Brian Kirkpatrick - Appointed:  June 1996

Haileybury and Oxford, a former parent.  A Chartered Accountant, previously with Coopers & Lybrand (as they then were).  Now Corporate Treasurer with a multi-national industrial company.  His elder son, Jonathan, went on to Winchester, and younger son, Matthew, to Charterhouse.  Lives locally.  An Elder of Guildford Baptist Church.

 

 

 

Nicholas BewesMr Nicholas Bewes - Appointed: June 2002

Managing Director of an investment business specialising in property acquisitions, management and development.  Until a recent move to Cambridge, worked for the BOC Group based in Windlesham and Guildford in roles which included Marketing, Communications and Change Management.  Currently Chairman of the Kings Choir School Cambridge Development Appeal.  An old Stoic.

 

 

James StilemanMr James Stileman - Appointed: March 2005

Old Wellingtonian and graduate of Durham.  Short Service Commission with The Royal Green Jackets before embarking on an 18 year career in advertising.  Now working for The Titus Trust running Christian activity holidays (Forres Holidays) for 11-13 year old boys and girls.  Married with two sons.

 

 

Chris StaffordMr Chris Stafford - Appointed:  November 2005

Headmaster of Monkton Preparatory School since 1998.  Formerly Head of St Andrew’s Prep School, Turi, Kenya 1994 - 1998 and Deputy Head of St Peter’s, Lympstone 1986 - 1994.  Educated at Kingswood School, Bath and Westminster College, Oxford.  IAPS Council member; ISCis (S&W) Council.  Married to Jane; two boys and a girl.

 

 

Mr Keith Civval - Appointed:  January 2011

Sevenoaks School and Economics at Bristol University.  Joined Save & Prosper as Graduate Trainee and was appointed to Group Board in 1990 as Sales Development Director.  Ran various business units with Save & Prosper before moving to Fleming Asset Management ultimately as Strategic Planning Director.  Chief Executive of Scripture Union from 2001 to 2010 where he is now Chair of Trustees - and leads a Scripture Union holiday with his wife.

 

Jonathan PerryMr Jonathan Perry - Appointed: June 2011

Educated at Monkton Combe School, followed by University of Gloucestershire and then Cambridge. Headmaster of Lambrook since 2010. Formerly Headmaster of Kingsmead School, Hoylake.  Jonathan and his wife Jenny were Houseparents at Monkton Combe School for nine years, where Jonathan was also Head of Religious Studies and Master i/c Rugby.  Jonathan and Jenny have two children, Bethany and Joshua, who are pupils at Lambrook. 

 

Garth WilliamsMr Garth Williams – Appointed October 2011

Educated at Clifton College Bristol, followed by Lincoln College Oxford.  Deputy Head of RGS Guildford since 2008.  Formerly Assistant Head at Alleyn’s, Housemaster at Dean Close and Head of History at Wellington College.  Garth is married to Juliet who is a Doctor and works part-time at Frimley Hospital.  They have four children.
