Aldro Regatta 2008

The Aldro Regatta took place in ideal racing conditions on Saturday. As always it was not without its controversies – on this occasion the new-style rowlocks causing particular excitement.

However, the biggest surprise of the day was that none of the fancied Form 8 crews made it to the final, in which the Anglo-Spanish “Toro, Toro!” crew were defeated by the Form 6 crew, “Floaters”, who had been rank outsiders before the afternoon’s racing began.

Well done to them for their epic achievement!
