Scout Camp 16-18 June

The Scouts voted to camp at Mellow Farm, near Frensham Ponds this year. During the Monday troop meetings they practiced pitching tents, booked the site and planned their menus to a strict budget. Pancakes were very popular this year, but other dishes included Fajitas, pasta and yoghurt salad and enough spaghetti to fill an army!

During camp, a Frisbee was stranded across the river, requiring the building of makeshift rafts for a successful rescue attempt. The district scout commissioner visited to present Skip [Mr. West] with a certificate for being in scouting for 20 years.

We spent an afternoon orienteering, hurtled down a zip wire, made fishing rods, burnt marshmallows and whittled hundreds of sticks into fire wood!

A great time was had by all. Mr. West would like to thank his team of Miss. Collett-White, Mrs. Wahl and Mrs. Gasson, and Mrs. Engelhardtsen for supplying the whole camp with S’mores.
