New Painting for the Chapel
Six boys from Form Seven have been very busy creating a new painting for the Chapel. They are: Adam Skantze, Vincent Richardson, Sebastian Fomin, Harry Sherwood, Harrison Charles and William Davidson.
They spent a long time looking at clouds and analysing the way light interacts with them at different times of the day, before experimenting with different ways of applying paint to simulate the effect of clouds. In the end they realised that more important than the shape of the clouds was the colours they used to represent the light.
The entire painting was done using only four colours: Burnt Umber, Ultramarine and White, with a very tiny bit of Deep Purple.
The painting represents the presence of God and is titled "Be still for the Power of the Lord is moving in this place."
The choir sang beautifully on Sunday evening when the painting was dedicated to the chapel in a special service.
