Education Drama
Drama at Aldro is fun and uplifting. Each form has one drama lesson a week in which we aim to develop the boys’ confidence, self esteem and drama skills through a range of stimulating exercises and drama games. They happily throw themselves into a variety of entertaining roles as they improvise, mime, communicate, move, manipulate puppets, explore characters and adorn masks. Drama is an inclusive subject in which group work is key and communication is essential. The boys in Forms 3 to 6 make remarkable progress and enter Form 7 as confident individuals, competent speakers and in many cases exceptional performers.
Drama Evenings
Parents are invited to a drama evening when they can enjoy a glass of wine whilst their boys engage in a normal drama lesson. The idea is that the boys are not under any pressure to perform, but naturally do so by the very nature of the subject. This informal evening has proved to be an entertaining and light hearted experience for all.
Form 8 Workshop by the Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre
Boys in Form 8 will have the opportunity to enjoy a workshop from the Youth Team of the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford. These workshops are designed so that the boys will gain further self-confidence, be empowered to work well within a group and be inspired to use their imaginations.
