Welcome to the Aldro website and thank you for your interest. I hope that what you find here will give you a good insight into all that Aldro has to offer.

Aldro is a coeducational day and boarding school for approximately 200 children aged between 7 and 13. Nestled in the quintessentially English and very beautiful village of Shackleford, Aldro lies just 30 miles southwest of London and is in easy reach of both Heathrow and Gatwick airports. With our full, weekly and family-friendly boarding, Aldro welcomes children from all around the world, as well as those looking for an idyllic country education away from the capital and many who join us daily from the towns and villages surrounding our stunning rural location in the home county of Surrey.

Open Mornings & Visits

Open Mornings take place every term and are a popular and good way to visit the school with the whole family enabling prospective parents and pupils to see for themselves what makes Aldro so special. Our Open Mornings offer an opportunity to meet the Headmaster, Mr Chris Carlier, and hear his vision for the school as well as to take a tour of the School with some of our pupils.

An Aldro Education

The aim of the curriculum is to provide all pupils with a stimulating and broad education that prepares them for the challenges of senior schools and beyond.

Co Curricular

At Aldro, our Co-Curricular programme is designed to complement our Curriculum, the two working in tandem to cultivate in our pupils those key skills for life that form part of our broader educational vision.

Boarding Life

Boarding has always been one of Aldro's great strengths and has helped to ensure that the school has a thriving family atmosphere and a commitment to an amazing breadth of education from which all the children benefit. It is also one of the reasons why Aldro pupils who move on to boarding schools at 13 have settled in so quickly and gone on to thrive so spectacularly.
