Co-curricular opportunities

At Aldro, our Co-Curricular programme is designed to complement our Curriculum, the two working in tandem to cultivate in our pupils those key skills for life that form part of our broader educational vision.
Our Co-Curricular programme is designed with the development in mind of such skills as Communication, Creativity, Teamwork, Responsibility, Independence and Perseverance. Correspondingly, the Co-Curricular programme is no optional add-on at Aldro, it constitutes an integral part of an Aldro education with which we expect all the pupils to engage. Much of the time, of course, their Co-Curricular activities will be the highlight of their day!
The Co-Curricular provision at Aldro includes our Sports programme, Music, Drama, Art and DT, and in addition, outdoor education for our younger children.

Every week the children also take part in enrichment activities which are designed to complement the needs and interests of each year group from quilling to cookery for the younger children, to debating, escape rooms, careers talks and global perspectives for the older children.
In addition there are a range of clubs that the children can take part in during their break times - popular ones include Minecraft Club, Warhammer and Friendship Club.
If there is an appetite for even more activity, children can take part in a range of extra-curricular clubs such as football, cricket, judo, LAMDA, Music Technology, horse riding, ballet, tennis, chess, rifle and pistol shooting. There is also the opportunity to learn over 20 different musical instruments which are taught by specialist teachers.
Aldro’s strength is its overarching focus on happiness, serving your own and wider community combined with memory-making experiences - learning through adventure and extra-curricular activity, not just the mainstream academic curriculum.”
